Time for some *spring cleaning* and a *refresh* on your skincare products!
1. PURGE: First things first, go into your powder room and throw out any expired skincare products, and while you're at it, toss any old makeup brushes that have seen better days.
2. KEEP IT SIMPLE: For the warmer months, less is more! AM: Gentle Cleanser, Vitamin C, SPF Moisturizer. PM: Active Cleanser, Hyaluronic Acid Serum, mid-lightweight Moisturizer. We are backing off of super active ingredients for daily use and using them a few times a week (this includes retinol as well).
3. USE ANTIOXIDANTS: Antioxidants protect and strengthen our collagen structure from free radical damage, from pollution, and environmental stressors. Incorporate a Vitamin C serum in your AM routine, your skin will be glowing!
4. USE A LIGHTWEIGHT MOISTURIZER: With more moisture in the air, we won't necessarily need the same moisturizer we were using in the fall/winter. Switching to a lighter weight moisturizer with less oils will keep our skin barrier balanced.
5. WEAR THE SPF: Here's the thing, not only are you protecting your skin from skin cancers (UVA/UVB rays that still come through the clouds by the way...Washingtonians I'm talking to you), but SPF is the number one anti-aging product on the market! Be preventive and find one that works for you!
6. BOOK THE FACIAL: Now is the perfect time to book a facial with your licensed professional to reset the skin and revamp your home-care. I suggest a facial that includes light exfoliation and hydration!
I hope these tips help you on your continued skincare journey, and please drop us a line! We would love to chat! xx - Nikki + Andrea
